Houdini & Unreal Engine Developers - Remote

We're Arkwiz, building Geos - a platform that turns GIS data into immersive 3D environments for infrastructure and construction projects. Visualizing proposed bridges, simulating flood patterns for climate planning, or modeling renewable energy installations.

Geos is fully automatic, where our Houdini and Unreal engine processes are deployed on the cloud. Our customers in the AEC industry interface with the result via ESRIs ArcGIS and pixel streaming. In addition, we deliver bespoke projects based on the same system. Geos is developed and owned by Arkwiz, and implemented in the portfolio of our partner, Geodata.

We launched March 5th, 2026, and need developers who can handle both custom client projects and core platform development as we keep building the Geos system.

Environment Artist

With a background in both Houdini and Unreal, you'd be responsible for both improving and adding to the worlds Geos creates.

Your source material is GIS data like forest areas, road surfaces, railroads, and a lot more. These exist mainly in the form of lines, points and polygons, and appear in Houdini via our interpreters.

By building on our established pipeline, you'll produce detailed roads, lush PCG greenery, varied infrastructure regions and more.

Geos has a well-documented and robust setup that will give you great place to start.

Technical Artist

As an Unreal Engine Generalist you're able to tackle a wide variety of tasks, ranging from setting up PCG on the GPU and optimizing performance, to handling data flows where JSON data dictates where generative content will spawn at runtime.

You probably will not have direct experience in every domain, but you have a broad and solid foundation that allows you to get up and running fast.

If you like building tools and putting together workflows, and enjoy a varied and challenging assortment of tasks, this job is for you.

Freelancers

We produce bespoke projects on top of Geos and the generative pipeline. You'll receive a fully generated area to work in, 3D models from customers, a solid brief and a reasonable timeframe.

From this you'll create presentations and videos from large scale residential projects, technical installations and infrastrucure projects.

Aesthetic sensibilities, good technical foundations and good communication skills are all important qualifications.

You have a background in architectural visualizations, perhaps, but you also have some deeper knowledge about Unreal Engine.

2-week sprints + 1-week cooldowns
- no crunch culture

Remote-first - European time zones preferred, exceptions possible

CI/CD - structured, but not bureaucratic routines for testing, review and rollout.

Small team: You'll work with Tore (founder/PM/architect), a former SideFX engineer, dedicated Houdini/Unreal developers, our API developer, plus Geodata's Norwegian dev team
